The Educator Preparation Program invites applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant position. The successful candidate must be energetic, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and flexible, understand confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information, be team oriented, and enjoy working directly and frequently with students. Primary Function: Administrative Assistant to the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) who serves as coordinator of advising for pre-education EPP candidates prior to their admission to the EPP. Also operates and maintains the Curriculum Library for students and faculty. Provides direct administrative support to the Director of the School of Education, the Director of the Clinical Reading Center and School of Education (SOE) Faculty. Serves as coordinator of recruitment for the School of Education. Field questions from prospective students (PS) and assist with informational advising in cooperation with the Admissions Office and Director of Student Success Programs. Maintain good working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Utilize strong oral and written communication skills. Library and technology expertise required along with ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Coordinate and supervise work-study students. A primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and coordinate all operations of the Teacher Education Curriculum Library, and to assist the Director of the Clinical Reading Center with administrative duties related to the Center. The incumbent will also assist the Director of the School of Education in coordinating research activities to further the mission of the SOE. A Bachelor's degree or four years of experience in area of responsibility or related area is preferred, library and technology expertise required.
